Our client is seeking a skilled Forklift Operator sto join their team. The successful candidates will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating forklifts to move materials, supplies, and equipment within the mine’s warehouse, loading areas, and other designated locations on-site. The Forklift Operators will also assist in inventory management, ensure compliance with safety protocols, and support general operations in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate a forklift to transport materials, tools, equipment, and supplies to designated areas within the mine site.
• Load and unload materials from trucks, containers, or storage areas, ensuring proper handling and storage.
• Assist in stocktaking and maintaining accurate inventory records.
• Follow all safety procedures and protocols related to forklift operation and material handling to minimize risks of accidents and injuries.
• Conduct routine checks and maintenance of the forklift, reporting any defects or issues to the supervisor for timely repair.
• Support the logistics and operational teams in various material handling tasks as required.
• Complete required reports, including maintenance logs, inventory records, and safety checks
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the mine’s logistics and material handling processes.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 Certificate
• Valid Zambian Forklift Operator’s License or certification from a recognized training institution.
• Additional training in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) or any other related certifications will be an advantage.
• At least 2 years of experience operating a forklift, preferably in an  industrial setting.
• Previous experience with loading, unloading, and managing warehouse operations will be an advantage.
