We are seeking a skilled and highly motivated Farm Manager to take charge of daily farm operations with a primary focus on crop and seedling management. The ideal candidate will possess a Diploma in Agriculture/Agronomy and demonstrate hands-on experience in managing seedlings, managing crops and supervising farm operations. The farm is based in Kabwe.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Fleet management

The Farm Manager shall ensure the mechanical condition of all movable assets is well looked after. The Frm Manager shall also monitor the Machine hours for the Farm Equipment

Crop Husbandry

The Farm Manager shall ensure that clearing , ploughing,  all the way up to ridging is done in good time. Additionally, harvesting shall be expected to be done in a methodical manner to ensure no loss of harvest.

Vegetable Growing

Maintaining good crop husbandry for vegetables and adequate planning for transplanting to ensure continuous supply for the market. The Manager shall oversee the marketing of yields and ensuring all is done timely. He/She will also maintaining the irrigation systems and water supply for vegetables including management of fuel for the pump and overall irrigation.

Administration

The successful candidate shall manage the labour resources with adequate and appropriate expertise required for the efficient operation of the farm. The Manager shall be expected to maintain and manage a staff roaster and attend to absenteeism & enforcing punctuality. They will also oversee the preparation of payroll at the end of the month and maintenance of records for all members staff. The farm manager will also be expected to Plan for the buying and application of inputs such as Fertiliser, seeds, herbicides and pesticides.

Chicken Raring

The Farm Manager shall oversee running the daily stock movement and report the use of feed and productivity of the birds. He/she shall ensure placing of orders for feed to the directors for funding ahead of time.
The manage shall ensure chicken rearing facilities are adequately cleaned and organic waste is transferred to the fields. The manager shall also maintain records of the quantities of birds at least once every month.

Green House

The Farm Manager shall oversee the management of the Green House and maintenance of Seedlings
