Job Description
The Zambia Forestry and Forest Industries Corporation PLC (ZAFFICO) is a listed and publicly traded company whose mission is to establish and manage industrial exotic forest plantations and agroforestry products to meet demand and maximize return on investment. In pursuit of its mission and strategic goals, the Corporation is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the under-listed position:
2.0 FINANCE MANAGER – PERFORMANCE REPORTING
Department: Finance
Location: Head Office – Ndola
Reports To: Director of Finance
A. Job Purpose
To prepare timely and accurate management reports to provide information to aid decision-making and ensure all management reporting requirements are met. The position is also responsible for the preparation of budgets, implementing budget control systems, capital expenditure monitoring, and fixed asset and inventory management.
B. Main Duties and Accountabilities
Responsible for all matters relating to cost, valuations, and internal financial reporting of the Corporation.
Manage fixed assets accounting of all Corporation assets before posting into the accounting system.
Responsible for inventory management.
Preparation of management accounts, financial analysis, and forecasting reports for decision-making purposes.
Coordinate preparation and consolidation of the corporate budget and ensure adherence to budgetary control.
Supervise subordinate staff (e.g., train, handle employee concerns) to provide guidance, leadership, and support to ensure attainment of departmental objectives.
Facilitate resolution of audit queries in areas of responsibility.
Implement internal management accounting systems, procedures, and relevant internal controls to safeguard against fraud and inefficiency.
Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the superior from time to time.
C. Minimum Qualifications, Experience, and Attributes
Grade 12 School Certificate.
Full CIMA / ACCA / ZICA qualification or equivalent; a degree in Accounting will be an added advantage.
Five (5) years post-qualification relevant experience from a reputable organization.
Knowledge of application of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and International Accounting Standards (IAS).
Excellent Microsoft Word and Excel skills; financial modelling is an advantage.
Advanced knowledge in the use of financial software applications and databases such as Sage Evolution and Sage People.
Self-motivated, deadline-driven, and attentive to detail.
