KoBold Metals Zambia is building a rapidly growing team of Zambian geologists, operators, and executives to identify, acquire, explore, and develop exploration opportunities and mineral resources drawing upon KoBold’s technology and the expertise of colleagues worldwide.

About the Position:

KoBold Metal’s Mingomba deposit in Zambia is a top-tier, sediment-hosted copper deposit that, once brought into full production, should be capable of producing in excess of 250,000 tonnes of copper annually. KoBold is seeking 1-2 Studies Coordinators to support the studies work related to preparation of a pre-feasibility study, feasibility study, and beyond.

The role will have a specific focus on supporting on-site work for the hydrogeology, geotechnical engineering, mining, and metallurgy components of the study, and work closely with the global studies team. We seek a dynamic and driven individual who holds a degree in mining, geology, or metallurgy, and is enthusiastic about contributing to our team’s success.

The Studies Coordinator will be responsible for the following:

Data Collection and Analysis:
Collaborate study team to identify, collect, and synthesize relevant data.
Ensure data accuracy and accessibility.
Assisting in the interpretation and analysis of data, as needed.
Consultant Coordination:
Serve as primary liaison with consultants once consultants are selected.
Oversee the timely submission of reports and other deliverables.
Maintain strong working relationships, communicating feedback effectively.
Report Compilation and Synthesis:
Assist in compiling data and findings into pre-feasibility study reports.
Work closely with the studies team to synthesize data for decision-making.
Logistics Coordination:
Organize and oversee all logistical requirements for on-site studies
Coordinate transportation, accommodation, and equipment, as needed.
Anticipate and address logistical challenges to ensure smooth study operations.
Timeline Management:
Monitor and update project timelines to guarantee studies remain on schedule.
Report any potential delays, challenges, or issues to senior management and work proactively to mitigate them.
Payment Management:
Manage payments to consultants, service providers, and suppliers, ensuring accuracy and adherence to budgetary constraints.
Maintain detailed financial records for each study.

Candidates are required to have the following:

Bachelor’s degree in Mining, Geology, or Metallurgy
At least 2 years of experience in studies-related work
Passion for a career in the mining and metallurgy industry
Strong organizational and project management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
A self-starter, execution focused and a strong collaborator
Proficiency in data management and analysis tools
Willingness to work on-site and travel to various locations within Zambia, as required
Strong commitment to KoBolds high ethical values (safety, community, enviro., etc.)

Excellent candidates will also have the following:

Experiences preparing and managing budgets
Familiarity with the mining industry within the Copperbelt region
