Job Description


Eastern Tropical Fruit Company Limited (ETF) is jointly owned by Zambia Fruit Company and Vitaplus Foods Limited, under the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC). The Company operates a hybrid fruit and vegetable processing plant located in Katete District, Eastern Province of Zambia.

Role Overview:

The Senior Sales and Marketing Officer will be responsible for identifying market opportunities, building and maintaining relationships with clients and distributors, securing offtake agreements, and ensuring that sales targets are achieved in alignment with the company’s growth objectives. The role will play a key part in positioning ETF as a competitive player in the agro-processing sector both locally and regionally.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Sales and Business Development:

  • Develop and execute sales plans to achieve revenue targets and expand market share.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including key accounts, distributors, and retail partnerships.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients.
    Negotiate sales contracts and terms to secure profitable deals.

Marketing and Brand Management:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy to promote the company’s brand and products.
  • Conduct market research to identify customer needs, market trends, and competitive landscape.
  • Manage promotional activities, advertising campaigns, and social media presence.
  • Oversee the design and production of marketing materials, including product packaging, brochures, and digital content.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Track and analyze sales performance data to measure the effectiveness of sales and marketing initiatives.
  • Prepare regular reports on sales forecasts, market trends, and marketing campaign results for the General Manager.
  • Use data-driven insights to adjust strategies and improve performance.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the Production and Logistics teams to ensure product availability and timely delivery to customers.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager to align sales and marketing goals with overall business objectives.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

  • Grade 12 Certificate with five (5) O Levels.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales and marketing, within the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) or food processing industry.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Professional membership with the Zambia Institute of Marketing (ZIM).
