Job Description


POSITION: EXPEDITOR x1 – PERMANENT

The position reports to the Inventory Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Expedite orders as well as monitoring the Completion and archiving of purchasing documentation.
  • Facilitate flow of material between various departments and suppliers.
  • Track orders from placement through delivery.
  • Liaise with vendors/suppliers, buying team and requisitioners to ensure timely delivery of goods/material as well as coordinating with the requisitioners.
  • Partner with receiving department for subsequent engagement via the supplier management process.
  • Collaborate with Contracts Manager and vendor maintenance personnel to assess performance of suppliers and vendors as well as identify solutions for ongoing challenges.
  • Liaise with creditors regarding order queries and other related Procure-to-Pay concerns.
  • Retain all expedite reports and documentation for reference and auditing.
  • Monitoring performance of on-site vendors and where necessary escalating to the Contracts Manager should discrepancies be identified.
  • Ensure compliance is achieved through rigorous engagement with group and internal audit.
  • Adhere to Illovo’s procedures, policies, and guidelines, including, without limitation, those relating to SHERQ, Competition Law and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC). Minimum specifications / Requirements areas.

Minimum Requirements

  • Full Grade 12 Certificate.
  • Diploma in Purchasing and Supply/ ZIPS/ CIPS / Business Administration/Management or equivalent.
  • 2 years’ experience in General stores or Procurement.
  • Working knowledge of Inventory technology systems is an added advantage.
  • Strong communication skills with experience in engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Member of Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply (ZIPS).
