Chef (Part Time – 1 position)

Purpose of the Job

The school is seeking a Chef who will undertake the planning, preparation, serving and clearing away of nutritious, balanced and value-for-money meals to students and staff.

Qualifications and Experience

• A catering qualification
• Must demonstrate catering expertise; experience of running a school kitchen and/or catering service will be an added advantage
• Experience of meeting the needs of a wide range of dietary requirements whilst still producing nutritionally balanced meals will be an added advantage

Key Skills

The successful candidate will possess the following key skills and attributes:

• Excellent communication skills; must be fluent in both English and Bemba
• Good standards of hygiene
• Organized and methodical, with good numeracy and planning (budgeting) skills
• Ability to work well independently and as a team member
• Excellent customer service
• A clear understanding of the legal/public health regulations involved in storing, cooking, and serving food
• A willingness to provide food off-site for students and teachers
