Job Description


Reports to: Project and Technical Support Officer

Location: Lusaka

Purpose of the role:

As the Technical Support Assistant at AGIC Energy Southern Africa Limited, you will ensure that all equipment received at the Lusaka warehouse is in good working condition. You will be required to carry out product testing and alert the Project and Technical Support Officer when we have faulty products that need to be returned to the manufacturer.

Key roles and responsibilities:

  • Inspection and assessment of the electrical system equipment and coordinate maintenance planning processes.
  • Install and supply on/Off Grid Solar Systems to various organizations and ascertain compliance to required safety standards and approved regulations.
  • Develop and implement quality assurance strategy as well as assist with product testing and development.
  • Carry out technical audits regarding performance and quality of service.
  • Promote and provide customer support on various solar products and resolve customer complaints.
  • Carry out load analysis and ensure systems are within acceptable power limits.
  • Give recommendations on viable cost-effective maintenance initiatives and prepare budget.
  • Manage and supervise all Agents across the provincial towns and districts throughout the Region for improved operations and service delivery.
  • Identify areas where performance can be improved and managed to make improvements for the business.
  • Liaising with the accounts department by Issuing purchase orders, invoices, goods received notes and receipts for any transactions.
  • Compilation of daily, weekly and monthly reports to maintain records in area of responsibility.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Good Knowledge in setting up renewable energy equipment.
  • Knowledge of computer software
  • Forklift certification added advantage.

Requirements

  • Member of Engineering Institute of Zambia
  • Client management experience developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills within all levels of an organization
  •  Ability to assemble solar hardware.
  •  Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite i.e., PowerPoint, Excel, Word
  •   This position must pass a post-offer background check.

Qualification

  • Diploma – Electrical engineering
  • 2 plus years of experience in similar setting.
