13. TEACHING ASSISTANT – PUBLIC HEALTH NURSING
Job Purpose:
To support the delivery of Public Health Nursing education through clinical teaching, skills demonstration, and supervision of students, ensuring effective application of public health principles in community and clinical settings in line with University and professional standards.
Key responsibilities:

Support lecturers in the delivery of Public Health Nursing lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions.

Supervise students during community-based and public health clinical placements.
Demonstrate public health nursing practices, including health promotion, disease prevention, and community assessment. -
Assist in the assessment, evaluation, and documentation of students’ clinical and community practice competencies.

Reinforce professional conduct, ethical practice, and public health standards among students.

Provide guidance and academic support to students during community and clinical training.

Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and clinical assessments.
-
Work closely with academic staff and community placement sites to ensure effective learning experiences.

Participate in departmental meetings, examinations, and academic activities as required.
Qualifications and Experience:

Grade 12 Certificate with five credits including English, Mathematics, and Science.

Bachelor of Science in Public Health Nursing.
-
Must have a minimum of two years Clinical teaching experience at university level or its equivalent.

NMCZ registration and ZAQA clearance.
