Levy Mwanawasa Medical University (LMMU) invites applications from suitably qualified, motivated, and experienced professionals to fill the following academic and clinical positions in the School of Nursing and Midwifery Sciences. All positions are on a full-time basis.
11. TEACHING ASSISTANT – HIV NURSE PRACTITIONER
Job Purpose:
To support the delivery of HIV Nurse Practitioner education through clinical teaching, skills demonstration, and supervision of students, ensuring effective integration of theory and practice in accordance with University policies and professional regulatory standards.
Key responsibilities:
Career counseling services
Support lecturers in the delivery of HIV Nurse Practitioner lectures, tutorials, and clinical practical sessions.
Supervise students during HIV-related clinical placements and skills laboratory sessions.
Demonstrate HIV Nurse Practitioner procedures, including patient assessment, treatment initiation, monitoring, and follow-up, in line with approved clinical guidelines.
Assist in the assessment, evaluation, and documentation of students’ clinical competencies.
Reinforce adherence to professional ethics, infection prevention and control, and patient confidentiality.
Provide guidance and academic support to students during clinical training.
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and clinical assessments.
Participate in departmental meetings, examinations, and academic activities as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
Grade 12 Certificate with five credits including English, Mathematics, and Science.
Advanced Diploma in HIV Nurse Practitioner.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing or related discipline.
Must have a minimum of two years Clinical teaching experience at university level or its equivalent.
NMCZ registration and ZAQA clearance.
