Job description:

Overall Job Purpose:

The role exists to provide supervision to maximise plant availability through, maintaining operational integrity of the plant & equipment in order to achieve production targets.

The Supervisor Mill Reline will be the frontline supervisor for all the mill relines. He or she is expected to be a hands-on supervisor who will lead the reline jobs. He or she is also expected to carry out updates on the tooling and liner inventory. He or she will equally provide technical leadership while creating a strong quality driven integrity guaranteeing fully compliance with regulations and best engineering practices.

 

Specific Job Responsibilities:

The specific tasks to be performed by the position holder will include;

To work on associated MILL MAX, 20’’ X 18’’, 26’’ X 22’’2, Krebs Cyclone Feed Pumps, Piping, Cyclones etc.
Trommel rebuild, vibratory screen rebuild.
Ensuring shutdowns are planned and executed in a professional manner.
KPI 97% plant availability.
Develop crew skills to levels of maximum efficiency and safety.
Identifying and implementing Improvements in the Process Plant in relation to the mills.
Minimize rework.
Assist develop Continuous Improvement and Condition Monitoring effectiveness.
Drive availability improvement and attention to detail.
Managing on site the team and third party sub-contractors ensuring they complete tasks on time and safely to required standards.
Responsible for all equipment and facilities breakdowns, corrective actions and counter-measures.
To keep up to date with and have an awareness of new products and new improved working methods that can add value by improving quality and reducing costs.
Compliance to work order attachments and documents such as JSA’s, Work Procedure’s, SWI’s, etc.
Ensure compliance with Safety and Environmental Management systems, policies and procedures along with ensuring that all risks have been identified, managed and safe working environment is maintained.
Full compliance to mandatory PPE requirements in all areas of the plant.
A clear understanding of preventative maintenance, strong communication skills and a flexible “can do” work ethic.

Experience required to perform in this job:

Minimum 8 years’ experience in Mining Fixed Plant Maintenance & Mill relining with at least 5 years leading a team of Mill Reliners, Mechanical Fitters, Boilermaker.
Must have previous Shift work experience. Preferably at Supervisor level.
Must have extensive knowledge of FL Smitdh Mills, Feed Chutes, Mill discharge Trommels and Mill Discharge Vibratory Screens.
Knowledge on operation of MRM309 and MRM308 Mill liner Handler Machines and Feed chute transporter machine.
Strong understanding of technical, production and maintenance strategies for large-scale, continuous operating mineral processing plants. will be advantageous.
Hydraulic systems maintenance will be an advantage.
Must have knowledge on operation of the Thunderbolt machine.
Must have worked with plant specific tools for relining i.e. 1.5” Pneumatic/Hydraulic impact wrenches, huck bolt tools will be an added advantage.
Experienced in the use of maintenance management systems.
Must have previous Shutdown Planning and Supervision.
Literacy in M/S Outlook, Excel, Word.

Qualifications:

Grade 12 Certificate.
Mechanical Craft Certificate or equivalent as a minimum.
Certification in Reline from Russell Mineral Equipment will be advantageous.
A member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ).
Valid Zambian Driver’s License.
