Job description:

Purpose of the Role:

Supervise the execution of the following functions;

• Construction and maintenance of all in-pit haul roads as per design
• Construction and maintenance of all in-pit ramps as per design
• Construction and maintenance of all pit perimeter roads as per design
• Loading and transportation of aggregate products
• Projects – construction of safety berms, desilting, crusher tipping bay clean ups and rehabilitation, water control, construction of pads for overhead power line poles
• Dust suppression

Specific Job Responsibility

• Enforce all aspects of the company’s health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.
• Ensure new pit ramps and haul roads are built as per design
• Manage waste dumps as per design and ensure safety of equipment
• Ensure maintenance of haul roads and waste dumps are done on a timely and regular basis
• Ensure delivery of aggregate products to the various areas are done in a timely manner
• Ensure safety berms are constructed as per design, control water haul roads, waste dumps and along pit perimeter
• Must be proactive with job planning for minimal disruption to production

Experience required to perform in this job

·       Minimum of 10 years’ experience in open pit operations

·       Road building qualification an advantage

Qualifications

• Grade 12 Full Certificate with a minimum of 5 passes
• Degree in Civil or Mining Engineering
• Valid EIZ Membership
• All qualifications need to be certified by ZAQA
