EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES IN MANUFACTURING

Metal Fabricators of Zambia Plc (ZAMEFA) is a wire and cable manufacturing company for the domestic and foreign markets. Its major operations are in Luanshya on the Copperbelt Province and it is a unit of CBI- electric group under the auspices of Reunert group of Companies which manage a portfolio of businesses in the fields of electrical engineering, information communication technologies and applied electronics. Zamefa wishes to invite applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the following positions:

1.      DESIGN ENGINEER

Main Duties:

• Prepares product designs and BOQ for cables and enters in the cost cards used in determining product cost and effect material control in production lines.
• Prepares material data sheets to customer specifications so as to determine the possibility of manufacturing the products using the existing machinery
• Monitors manufacturing processes of all products through Technical problem sheet and studies deviations from the specification requirements with a view of correcting the situation
• Prepares cable weights and wooden drum volumes for every customer standard packing length as a reference for the user department in determining transport loading capacity
• Previews international cable standards so as to effect changes in the BOQ for cables in the cost cards and manufacturing guides.
• Prepares product codes and issues them to user departments for reference and storage of the products in the computer
• Offers technical information regarding cables in the daily running of company business

Qualifications/Experience

Grade Twelve certificate

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• Experience in Cable builder Software such as Cable Pro will be added advantage.
• Member of EIZ
• Three (03) years and above working experience in the similar role.
• Conversant with the Quality Management System ISO 9001 standard.

2.      PROJECTS FOREMAN

Main Duties:

• Coordinate tasks according to priorities and plans.
• Produce schedules and monitor attendance of crew.
• Ensure manpower and resources are adequate and allocate general and daily responsibilities
• Guarantee all safety precautions and quality standards are met
• Supervise the use of machinery and equipment.
• Monitor expenditure and ensure it remains within budget.
• Responsible for training, understanding and compliance of LOTOTO for all subordinates

Qualifications/Experience

• Grade Twelve certificate
• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
• Member of EIZ
• Three (03) years and above working experience in the similar role.
• Conversant with the Integrated Management System
