Our mission is to provide cutting edge medicine, and advocacy, regardless of ability to pay. Through our healthcare centers, pharmacies, health plans, research, and other activities, AHF provides access to the latest HIV treatment for all who need them.

The AIDS healthcare Foundation (AHF) Zambia continues to grow as we set to open ten (10) more sites to thirty-one (31) sites that we are currently supporting. It is in this respect that AHF Zambia is inviting applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the following positions.

1. Data Clerks (8)

AIDS Healthcare Foundation seeks to fill these vacancies in the following locations.

Facility: Location   

Chongwe Urban Clinic  – Chongwe 1

Mazabuka General Hospital – Mazabuka 1

Liteta General Hospital – Liteta 1

Thomson District Hospital – Luanshya 1

Twapia Urban Clinic – Ndola 1

Kalewa Barracks Urban Clinic – Ndola 1

Northern Command Military Hospital – Ndola 1

University of Zambia (UNZA) Clinic – Lusaka 1

Responsibilities:

The successful candidates will be required to perform the following responsibilities.

  • Enter all clinic data into the recommended systems.
  • Conduct data collection and consolidation for the purposes of preparing weekly as well as quarterly reports to be submitted to the Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator.
  • Consolidate and prepare monthly Testing reports for the site.
  • Participate in chart audit review for the clinic.
  • Participate in the data review meetings for the facility.
  • Supervise Time-in-Motion Survey and other surveys as assigned by Data Manager

Qualification and Skills:

  • Full Grade 12 Certificate
  • A Diploma in Information Technology and or Monitoring & Evaluation or their equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in data collection, entry, and reporting
  • Must have basic analytical skills in excel or other computer software’s mostly used in health facilities   such as SmartCare.

2. Linkage Assistant (9)

AIDS Healthcare Foundation seeks to fill these vacancies in the following locations.

Nakambala Urban Clinic – Mazabuka 1

Chongwe Urban Clinic – Chongwe 1

Liteta General Hospital  – Liteta 1

Roan Antelope Hospital – Luanshya 1

Ndola Teaching Hospital – Ndola 1

Kalewa Barracks Urban Clinic – Ndola 1

Northern Command Military Hospital –  Ndola 1

Maramba Clinic – Livingstone 1

New Masala Clinic  – Ndola 1

Responsibilities:

The successful candidates will be required to perform the following responsibilities:

  • Reach out to HIV positive clients and encourage them to come into care and monitor their linkage in medical care.
  • Contact the recipients of care through phone calls, home visits and work with community structures to reach newly diagnosed clients that have not been linked to care and treatment.
  • Regularly update the linkage database as and when there is some information change.
  • Work with the facility team to identify, follow up and support clients that miss clinic appointments and those that disengage from care.
  • Follow up on clients that cannot be reached on phone.
  • Identify and document the issues that create barriers that make it difficult for clients to access the services.
  • Reach out to partners of the clients that recently tested positive and invite them to the clinic for counselling and testing.
  • Assist with reporting requirements including document data for reports preparing reports and submitting data to line managers.
  • Ensure that more than 90% of newly tested positive are linked to care while and not less than 90% of all clients both new and old are retained to care.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Full Grade 12 certificate with at least five credits in English and mathematics.
  • Diploma in Psychosocial Counselling, Psychology, Social Work and or their equivalent.
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience in a similar position.
  • Must have experience in working with people living with HIV and or chronic illnesses.
  • Must have very good interpersonal skills as well as uphold high levels of confidentiality.
  • Computer literate.
  • A certificate in HIV care and management will be an added advantage.

3. Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision Provider (1)

The VMMC Provider will work with other clinical staff to provide VMMC procedures to clients. The incumbent will be required to perform the responsibilities listed below.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership to both the clinical and support staff in the delivery of safe, high-quality, high-volume VMMC services.
  • Works with other partners as well as management of the facility to ensure that VMMC services run smoothly.
  • Develop strategies that promote the benefits of VMMC to ensure that targets are achieved.
  • Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of demand creation mechanisms in conjunction with Policy, Advocacy and Marketing teams.
  • Identify localities or communities where there are circumcision needs and add establish contact with young people to seek their views on how to successfully offer them services.
  • Ensure that clients are linked to other HIV prevention services.
  • Ensure that VMMC and STI services are implemented in line with Ministry of Health policies and guidelines.
  • Adheres to internationally recognized standards of quality in VMMC for HIV prevention.

Skills:

  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks without compromising on quality.

Qualifications:

Those interested in this position must possess following:

  • Diploma in Clinical Medicine and or its equivalent from a reputable institution.
  • A Certificate in Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision.
  • Five (5) years’ experience in a similar position.
  • Experience in implementing HIV prevention programming preferred.
  • Familiarity and experience with VMMC for HIV prevention required.
  • Must have a valid practicing license from the Health Professional Council of Zambia (HPCZ).

4. Store and Procurement Assistant (1)

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the items and material that are procured for the organisation are stored in a safe and secure environment.
  • Maintain the stock levels of all materials in stores and make prompt orders to replenish stocks that are below the order levels.
  • Make sure that material requisitions are attended to ensure that all the end-users get are serviced in good time.
  • Promptly and accurately update the records of the materials in stock.
  • Participate in the procurement of goods and services for the organisation by soliciting invoices from prospective suppliers.

Skills:

  • Must be a person of high integrity.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Highly organized and able to prepare reports.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Diploma in Purchasing and Supply Chain Management from a reputable Institution.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a similar environment.
  • Must be a registered member of the Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply.

5. Clinical Officer (8)

AIDS Healthcare Foundation seeks to fill these vacancies in the following locations.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidates will be required to perform the following responsibilities:

  • Provides clinical care to both pediatric and adult clients.
  • Ensures compliance with productivity standard by coordinating patient scheduling.
  • Examines diagnoses and treats diseases of infants, children, and adults.
  • Determines need for patient examinations and laboratory investigations and be able to interpret findings and test results.
  • Advises patients’ concerning diet, hygiene, and methods for prevention of disease.
  • Assists counselors with disclosure of HIV status to pediatric clients.
  • Refers patients to medical specialists or other practitioners for specialized treatment.
  • Prepares and reviews case histories and clinical records of infants, children, and adults.
  • Authorizes refills for medications.
  • Completes patient diagnosis forms.
  • Attending some of clinic case conferences to discuss difficult patients.
  • Works with the clinic team to accommodate urgent care/walk-in patients.
  • Schedules vacation or conference leave time at least one month in advance.
  • Works with the responsible staff to ensure all reports needed from the sites are processed and sent to AHF Zambia office in a timely manner.
  • Works with the clinic in-charge to ensure all supplies required for the smooth running of the clinic are always available.
  • Participate in AHF meetings/committees such as medical staff meetings, general staff meetings and CME activities.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Diploma in Clinical Medical Sciences.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in HIV care and treatment.
  • Must be trained in pediatrics and adults HIV Management.
  • Must have a sound knowledge in the basic medical disciplines to allow for accurate diagnosis and appropriate management of clinical problems.
  • Knowledge of clinical protocols and procedures in the management of HIV related diseases.
