Who we are;

WidEnergy is a women-led consumer financing and last mile distribution start-up, focusing on solar solutions, founded in 2016 in Lusaka, Zambia. We are dedicated to the empowerment of women and providing last-mile distribution of clean energy solutions.

To date, WidEnergy has provided Solar Home Systems (SHS) to over 13,000 customers.

About the role

We are scaling the business, and are in search of new agents who resonate with our mission of empowering rural women with access to clean solar energy solutions and facilitating more enriching lives for themselves and their communities.

We are seeking sales agents who have the following characteristics and skills:

Possess business or sales experience
Demonstrate experience in community volunteering or mobilisation
Familiar with their community’s whereabouts and significant landmarks
Knowledge of how to use a smartphone/must possess a smartphone
Exhibit strong networking and marketing capabilities
Display self-confidence in their abilities
Uphold accountability and responsibility
Demonstrate resilience and reliability
Should be very trustworthy
Show dedication and commitment to their work
Exhibit problem-solving skills
Possess effective communication and interpersonal abilities
Job description

Generate new good quality sales for the company
Gather initial credit-screening information
Refer clients to customer care upon product purchase decision
Provide accurate product details, including sales terms, duration, aftersale and warranty
Identify potential collaboration opportunities with organisations/cooperatives for community projects
Serve as the primary contact between clients and the company in the operating areas
Develop and maintain client relationships through clients visitations
Assist in conducting market research to identify community trends and revenue opportunities
Support Team Leads with client repayments, visiting unreachable clients and repossessions
Familiarise yourself with additional products offered by the company, beyond solar home systems

20 years and above
Registered phone number
G.12 certificate
Smartphone knowledge/possession of a smartphone is a must (WidEnergy provides smartphones on loan basis for Sales Agents)
