EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

The Planned Parenthood Association of Zambia (PPAZ) is a non-governmental and not for profit organisation and is affiliated to the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF). PPAZ in partnership with Japanese Organisation for International Cooperation in Family Planning (JOICFP) with funding from the Japanese Government through Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) will be implanting a project to advocates for Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) including Promotion of GBV prevention and care through community empowerment. The project is aimed at supplementing governments efforts in the provision of integrated Sexual and Reproductive Health services by working through the public facilities.

The PPAZ/JOICFP GBV Prevention and Care Project will be implemented in Kapiri Mposhi District and is seeking applications from qualified applicants to fill the following positions:

Project Officer-One (1) 

Location: Ndola

The Project Officer will provide technical and supervisory support to the community volunteers and other stake holders to ensure effective implementation of the project. He/she will work closely with Project Manager as well as the Provincial and District Health Offices in the project catchment areas.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Facilitating planning, coordination and smooth implementation of project activities.
  • Manage and facilitate flow of essential information among project stakeholders.
  • Undertake training of Community and Service Provider.
  • Ensure the promotion of the respect of human rights through contacts with community leaders.
  • Collaborate and network with stakeholders.
  • Monitor and conduct supervisory visits to project sites.
  • Provide technical support to community-based service providers.
  • Timely preparation and submission of project activity reports to the Project Manager.
  • Prepare periodic and annual reports on protection activities within the assigned district for submission to the Project Manager, PPAZ HQ and JOICFP.
  • Maintain project work plan and document milestones.
  • Develop an insightful analytical tool to inform resource requests, execution decisions, strategy choices and potential trade off needs.

Educations and Experience

  • BSC Public Health or any other related equivalent social sciences.
  • Qualification in Project Management will be an added advantage.
  • More than Five (5) years’ relevant work experience in reputable organisation preferable in an NGO especially in sexual and reproductive health and rights promotion is a significant plus.
  • Required interest or experience in Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) and, knowledge management.

Key Skills

  • Sound financial management skills, particularly in budgeting and reporting;
  • Experience of teamwork with members in diverse and geographically separated locations;
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office software packages, especially MS Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels;
  • Proficiency in both verbal and written English
