Opportunity: Field Officer (6 Months)

The Choma District Women’s Development Association (CDWDA) is a women-led association that is registered under the Registrar of Societies whose members are derived from different women groups within a district. Choma Women District Development Association is a strong base for building women’s voices at all community levels with the aim of enhancing women’s economic empowerment in their communities, hence the focus on income generating activities

Choma District Women Development Association (Choma DWDA) is seeking passionate and committed individuals for a six-month internship starting in February. This position is ideal for those looking to gain hands-on experience in project implementation, community mobilization, and monitoring and evaluation (M&E).

Key Responsibilities:

Proper filing and documentation of project documents.
Participate in monthly project update meetings.
Conduct first-level data cleaning and analysis and discuss findings with the programme team.
Actively participate in programme planning processes.
Support report writing by analyzing and interpreting Logframe data for reporting.
Submit monthly M&E updates to the Project Coordinator.
Coordinate and support community groups and lead farmers in project activities.
Mobilize community groups during project implementation.
Regularly update the project Logframe.

Qualifications:

A Diploma (or equivalent) in Development Studies, Social Work, Agricultural Economics, or any related field is an advantage.
Certificate in Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) is a plus.
1–3 years of voluntary or professional experience in community-based work or M&E systems is an asset.
Proficiency in local languages (Tonga) is required.
Basic knowledge of Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) tools.
Good communication, facilitation, and report-writing skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to ride a motorbike is an advantage.

Competencies:

Practical experience working with rural community-based organizations is preferred.
Relevant knowledge of agriculture and development-related issues.
Strong work ethic, self-driven, and determined.
Basic understanding of M&E concepts, including data analysis and result interpretation.
