Job Description


Position: Programs Manager
Location: Kafue – Chanyanya

Position Summary

The Programs Manager reports to the Country Manager and is the organization’s head of programmes who plays a crucial role in overseeing the implementation of our community development projects, responsible for ensuring the quality, effectiveness, and timely delivery of programs aligned with the organization’s mission and goals. Leads the planning, execution and monitoring of projects to address community needs in education, health and economic security.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Development and Implementation:

-Ensure quality and timely implementation of project interventions in line with approved program scope and national strategies.
-Ensure compliance with relevant standards and policies set by Miracle Corners Zambia and the Government of Zambia.

2. Capacity Building, People Management, and Partnership:

-Support staff orientation and capacity building through coaching and mentoring.
-Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders for enhanced collaboration.
-Establish management procedures for smooth program operations.
-Participate in professional growth activities to enhance competency.

3. Program Effectiveness and Quality Assurance:

-Develop detailed implementation plans to support program delivery and project
objectives.
-Track performance against targets outlined in annual implementation plans.
– Direct supervision and evaluation of instructional projects, ensuring quality curriculum and training.

4. Resource Mobilization and Communication:

-Identify funding opportunities and support new business development for program design.
-Manage program partnerships with government, donors, NGOs, and other stakeholders.

-Coordinate program events to raise program profile and represent MC-Z at local and national forums.

5. Other Responsibilities:

-Write quarterly and annual reports and submit to the Country Manager.
-Liaise with stakeholders and like-minded organizations to promote women and youth interests.
-Perform other duties assigned by the Country Manager.

Qualifications:

-Bachelors Degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Community Development or related field.
– Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in program/project management in the field of social services or community development. Experience in project management, capacity building, monitoring and evaluation.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Fluent command of at least two local and/or national languages used in the country and good communication skills, including both written and verbal. Preferably fluent in the language(s) spoken in the programme’s target communities
(Bemba, Nyanja and Tonga).
– Positive and professional approach: highly organised, able to work independently, using initiative and keeping commitments, leading a team.
– Awareness and understanding of social development issues including gender, education, health,
economic empowerment, etc.
– Basic financial, human resource development and computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel).
