Visible Women is a small non-profit organisation, our mission is to support young women in their professional development, career aspirations and leadership potential through targeted programmes including mentorship, fellowships, information/resources and networking events. Our consulting services are designed to help organisations drive efficiency and profitability, we do this through employee engagement & experience solutions, women’s leadership training and organisational development.

We are a small organisation in the growth stage, which means there are many opportunities to contribute to shaping the culture and future direction of our programmes/services, thus this is an exciting opportunity and a great time to join the team. The role is for 6 months (with possibility of extension) and remote based initially then moving to a hybrid model if extended beyond 6 months.

The Programme Officer plays a critical role in the organisation to develop, monitor and drive projects forward. The role cuts across the women’s leadership training, employee engagement & experience solutions and organisational effectiveness. You will have responsibility to design and guide on restructuring activities to increase efficiency of organisations to align with their goals and increase profitability. You will need to be result-oriented with the ability to work effectively under-pressure to meet deadlines as well as strong organisation skills.

Responsibilities include:

  • Analysing organisations current culture, operations and structure – identifying areas for improvement, in which new initiatives and programmes can be based on.
  • Working closely with organisational leaders to advise and guide them on how to make changes and increase growth.
  • Designing and implementing developmental action plans and training packages.
  • Evaluating the impact of staff development initiatives on employee performance and retention.
  • Recruitment of training facilitators (for leadership training) and maintaining a database of trainers, ensuring they are up to date on training package as well as managing payments, coordinating training preparations and overseeing delivery.
  • Evaluating training sessions and using feedback to improve the training package.
  • Managing logistics in relation to training delivery such as arranging venues and working with organisations to ensure smooth delivery of training.
  • Developing training documentation for trainees during and after training.
  • Continuously researching current & future approaches to leadership development and behavioural change science, having bold opinions on best practice and challenging the way we do things.
  • Documenting processes and preparing progress reports for clients as well final products.

Please note that you may be asked to perform other tasks outside of these.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Educated to degree/diploma level in Industrial- Psychology, Human Resource Management, Business Management or any relevant discipline.
  • 2-3 years’ experience in organisational development, skills development and capacity building.
  • Excellent relationship management and influencing skills with the ability to adapt style and approach to different audiences.
  • Experience of working in partnership with business customers to assess needs and deliver appropriate solutions.
  • Experience of designing and working on the delivery of leadership and organisational development programmes.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.
