Job Description


Live Well Social Business Limited is a for-profit social enterprise incorporated and registered in Zambia. Strengthened by partner support, Live Well has developed a model that supports community health worker livelihoods in underserved communities; while creating social impact. Its aim is to build self-sustaining operations that can reliably provide access of key commodities, supplement livelihoods and maintain a clear focus on delivering social impact to underserved peri-urban and rural communities in the last mile. Live Well seeks a Program Support Intern to work under the supervision of the Operations Lead to meet both key impact and revenue targets.

Supporting operations lead to meet both key impact and revenue targets; the Program Support Intern is responsible for: –

1. Program Management

  • Prepare program activity reports, monthly, quarterly reports.
  • Monitors and analyses Program development and implementation.
  • Plan and execute Program activities in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Identify/Analyze program challenges to be addressed and propose corrective actions
  • Responsible for Program activity budget preparations and expense management including accountability of the Program activity budgets.
  • Represents the programs manager in Program meetings and other related platforms and maintains frequent communication with Program partners including government line ministries and departments.

2. Management

  • Lead monthly meeting with Community Health Entrepreneurs(CHEs).
  • Monthly and quarterly work plan of the Program.
  • Coach CHEs to hold vision camps and achieve sales targets.
  • Weekly and Monthly Stock reconciliation of the commodities.
  • Manage Live Well CHE Coaching and Performance Management.
  • Organization and Management of Community outreach activities.
  • Drive CHE retention, aiming for 90% of trained CHEs active in a single month.
  • Ensure all CHEs know and follow health protocols (reporting adverse events).
  • Contribute new ideas and lead innovations/experiments to improve the business model.

3. Commodity/Stock Management

  • Support CHEs to build strong community relations.
  • Distribute and manage inventory of Reading Glasses.
  • Review sales performance and contribute to forecasting.
  • Reconcile cash. Ensure cash matches sales on a daily basis.
  • Bank monies on a daily basis, or within 24 hours of collection.
  • Engage CHEs on a regular basis to restock and provide ongoing support.
  • Plan and oversee marketing and promotional activities to hit Program targets.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly activity reports explaining performance vs. targets.
  • Take CHE orders and accurately forecast demand to reduce unnecessary inventory movements
  • Regularly report and review CHE performance to develop and implement strategies tailored to drive performance.
  • May be occasionally be required to work on weekends and/or public holidays for which time of lieu will be granted

4. Mobilization and Training

  • Mobilization and Recruitment of CHEs – Lead CHE recruitment and training, mobilization of vision camps and conducting of eye screening and Reading Glasses sales.
  • Providing any other training as needed by the program.

Essential experience, capabilities and qualifications

  • At least 1 year working experience in retail, sales or program/project management
  • Experience working for a social enterprise will be an added advantage
  • Candidate should at least have a minimum of a diploma in Optometry
  • Computer Literate (especially MS Office, MS Outlook, G-
  • Good communication skill, independent worker and team player.
  • Willing to work flexible hours and weekends.
  • Can work with minimum to no supervision.
  • Must be a self-starter and self-motivated.

To be successful in this role, you must have a keen eye for detail and be able to multi-task with accuracy and efficiency. This is a remote working role based in Copperbelt, Central or Southern with occasional travel to Lusaka Province. All appointments are subject to funding confirmation.

Compensation

We are offering a commission-based package commensurate with targets.
