Job Description


AGT International is seeking a short-term Procurement Specialist to support the procurement processes for several large supply tenders. Inputs of a total of 50 days are expected to be made intermittently over the period from March 2024 – June 2025

The tasks of this assignment are: –

1.     To develop a Procurement Plan for each procurement foreseen for the full term of the Zambia Aquaculture Project. The Plan will be structured to indicate clear benchmarks and milestones to enable adherence to timelines.

2.     To lead the preparation of tender dossiers and facilitate evaluation of tenders for ZAP PE procurements

3.     To monitor and ensure the timely implementation of the Plan and inform the ZAP PM and ZAP Team Leader if there is deviation from the Plan and propose corrective measures.

4.     To train and guide key MFL staff on EU/EDF procurement rules and procedures.

5.     To assist key MFL staff involved in procurement procedures in the conduct of the procurement foreseen.

The duty station will be at the ZAP Project Office, Lusaka. Travel outside Lusaka is not expected.

Requirements

  • University degree or other qualification in purchasing and supply, or another relevant qualification.
  • At least seven years of general professional experience in the field related to the assignment
  • Specific experience of dealing with procurement in at least one EU contract.
