Job description:
Purpose
Plan corrective and preventive maintenance jobs, associated to process plant according to rules, policies and established procedures, to ensure the optimized use of resources and equipment availability.
Key Responsibilities

- The incumbent will be required to adhere to all relevant requirements, policies, procedures and legal regulations pertaining to health, safety, environment and quality, as well as finance, human resources, and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities of the function
- Plan repair and preventive maintenance work for plant equipment
- Create and organize work orders in the CMMS system, including the people, tools, materials, and outside services needed
- Set up preventive maintenance tasks in the CMMS to reduce errors and make weekly planning easier
- Prepare clear, step-by-step job plans based on manufacturer instructions and company procedures
- Review feedback from completed jobs, update plans when needed, and identify maintenance tasks that should be prioritized
- Forecast and order materials for planned maintenance work – managing lead times to ensure materials are available when required
- Apply for new stock codes when needed so all maintenance materials are properly listed in the system.
- Keep equipment spare parts lists (BOM) accurate and up to date.
- Track maintenance budgets and update job costs to control spending.
- Study repeated equipment failures and find ways to reduce breakdowns and improve reliability
- Lead planning meetings to gather information from operations, maintenance, logistics, and other departments, and prepare maintenance reports as required
- Monitor contractor work hours and ensure their time is correctly charged to purchase orders
- Maintain relationships and communicate clearly with colleagues in execution, planning and commercial
- In specific areas, assumes short-term scheduling responsibilities aligned with defined scope and resources.
- Develops weekly schedules for assigned sections where a dedicated Scheduler is not allocated.
Qualifications
Education:
- A Craft qualification or;
- Bachelor’s degree in a mechanical, electrical, industrial, civil discipline or related field
- Training, certifications, or seminar attendance demonstrating continuous learning preferred in planning & scheduling, training & assessments, project management, asset management, RCM, etc. is highly regarded
- All academic qualifications and results must be verified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA)
Computer Skills:
•Computerized Maintenance Management Systems essential.
•Microsoft Office
•ERP (Pronto, JDE. SAP)
•MS Project (Highly recommended)
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a processing plant (preferably mining), with at least one year in a planning role or 5+ years experience as an Artisan or supervisor with significant exposure to planning processes and CMMS systems
