Lwitikila Bottling Company Limited is a business start-up located in Mpika District of Muchinga Province. The company boasts of hi-tech investment in pure water treatment and packaging and now seeks to recruit the following positions.

Job Title:  Operations Manager

Location: Mpika District, Muchinga Province

Job Description

Operation Manager’s responsibilities will include designing policies, overseeing customer service and implementing revenue growth strategies. You should be a responsible leader with an analytical and strategic mind and have a broad knowledge of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design policies that align with overall company strategy.
  • Implement efficient processes and standards the deliver value to the business.
  • Supervise, guide and ensure that operators safely and proactively operate, troubleshoot, and optimize PET support and bottling equipment.
  • Effective coordination of activities in all sections of the company.
  • Responsible for meeting production and distribution targets of the company.
  • Motivate and lead all staff towards optimal performance.
  • Effective control and discipline in the work environment.
  • Plans, organizes, directs, controls, and evaluates the bottling operations of the plant to produce the products needed by sales.
  • Prepares the production schedules to ensure optimized production cost and reduced downtimes.
  • Set daily production mix levels and plan shift arrangements to meet the daily requirements of Sales.
  • Plans and implements the maintenance management system of the plant that will provide high reliability of operation of the machines.
  • Prepares plant’s overhaul schedules without affecting production requirements.
  • Lead distribution and logistics relationships to ensure we can meet demand.
  • Drive the end-to-end purchase, sales, distribution process with the team.
  • Drive best-in-class customer service, handling multiple enquiries from customers across our business through our different channels.
  • Recruiting, interviewing and hiring staff.
  • Evaluate risk and lead quality assurance efforts.
  • Oversee expenses and budgeting to help the organization optimize costs and benefits.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or any related field.
  • Prior experience in coordinating operations of bottled water or beverage processing in similar organisation is desired.
  • Solid computer skills, including the use of Word. Excel, PowerPoint is compulsory.
  • Ability to work independently or with a team and communicate effectively.
  • Solid problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Comfortable working in a high-speed production environment.
  • Willingness to work during holiday and weekends as the company is a 24/7 business, operating through most weekends.
  • Ability to successfully complete online skills assessment prior to onsite interview.

Requirements and skills

  • Proven experience working in Operations or similar leadership role.
  • Familiarity with all business functions including HR, finance, supply chain and IT.
  • Knowledge of data analytics and reporting.
  • Good with numbers and financial planning.
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership ability.
  • Analytical mind.
  • Problem-solving aptitude.
