Job Description


Trident Prep School is an International Primary School located in the North-Western Province of Zambia. This small school of 100 pupils is set in an intimate mining community. We are a non-selective school and run a busy child-centred curriculum, both within the classroom, on the playing field and in the surrounding area.

Trident Prep Solwezi forms part of the Trident group of schools which is made up of two Prep schools and the College. These Schools are, in turn, operated by Educore Services, a leading provider of independent schooling in Zambia.

Trident Prep Solwezi Educore Services is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced, and enthusiastic Music Teacher.

The appointee will report to the Head Teacher and directly lead and coordinate the music program for each year group from pre-school to Year 6. This will include teaching and leading music lessons within the school timetable, as well as the co-curricular program (CCA) across the school.

Main Purpose of the Job
To provide excellence and enjoyment in the field of Music and Performing Arts to primary school students, through music and related skills such as drama, and individual and group presentations.
Students should learn and develop musical skills within the music program that are exhibited in school pro-ductions and inter-school competitions and collaboration within the Trident group of schools.

Qualifications and other Requirements

The minimum requirement is a music degree with education and a minimum of five years of teaching experi-ence in Music. Registration as a teacher with a professional teaching body.

The successful candidate will possess the following key skills and attributes:

  • Enjoy living in a small, rural community in Africa.
  • A high level of interpersonal skills, teamwork and collaboration which will be evidenced in producing, directing, and organising school plays.
  • Have experience with the Cambridge Music curriculum or similar international curriculum.
  • Have exemplary skills in guiding and supporting learning and teaching in music.
  • Have foundation teaching and learning skills that will inspire, motivate, and challenge children to reach the next stage of their development in music.
