Job Title: Manager Service
Division: Weir Minerals
Location: Zambia, Kitwe
Hybrid

Purpose of Role: The Service Centre Manager will manage all the day-to-day maintenance and service-related duties within the Service Centre and customer site contracts where applicable.  This position ensures that end users are provided with value added solutions to reduce TCO (total cost of ownership) ensuring increased share of wallet

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.
  • Responsible for Service Centre budgets and working capital.
  • Grow business and acquire new business and/or customers.
  • Ensure invoices targets are achieved and spares forecast.
  • Ensure Weir policies and procedures are adhered to in the service centre
  • Control of documentation and record keeping
  • Improve the Service Centre to meet Weir group standards

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

 

  •  Matric (Grade 12) or N3 certificate or equivalent
  • A technical qualification e.g. Process Engineer and/or qualified artisan, preferably in the Fitter & Turner trade
  • Valid driver’s license

 

Minimum Experience:

  • 5 years post qualification experience in a mining/manufacturing environment
  • Management experience in the mining industry and/or in a manufacturing environment (pump/process manufacturing environment would be an advantage)
  • Exposure to and implementation of lean manufacturing
  • Implementation and maintenance of the OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 standards
