Job Description


JOB POSITION: MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR X1

DEPARTMENT: MAINTENANCE

REPORTS TO: GENERAL MANAGER

POSITION SUMMARY:

As Maintenance Supervisor, you will oversee the implementation of all daily maintenance activities, coordinate and ensure that work is completed on time. You will ensure the highest quality of product both external and internal with key emphasis on standards, Health & Safety, sustainability and cost control and will also direct and develop your team to support you in these areas.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responding to ad-hoc maintenance and repair requests, including fixing leaks; plumbing, electrical faults, door locks and tiles.
Performing building checks, give support and provide technical guidance to Maintenance team as they work.
Advice on the selection, procurement of materials required for a plumbing installation and building repairs.
Maintain all inventory and equipment, and ensure proper storage.
Comply with all health and safety regulations and practices in the hotel.
To support and share best practice with other Maintenance personnel within the group
Always keep an eye out for improvements – follow the preventative maintenance calendar and keep everything working and efficient at all times
Ensuring that facilities, such as water and heating and lifts, are well-maintained
To be available for any emergencies and preserve the building and its systems during the emergency and Ensure all guests and colleagues are safe during emergencies.
Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
QUALIFICATIONS

General grade 12 certificate / Full GCE.
Minimum of Diploma in Construction Building Management /General Construction/ Civil engineering. Degree will be an added advantage.
Three (3) years of General Construction and Maintenance Experience.
Must be above 21 but Less than 40 years of age.
Able to execute, monitor and supervise;
i. Carpentry/Joinery

ii. Electrical and Electronics

iii. Plumbing

iv. Masonry Work

v. Painting and Decorating.

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

Creative, self-motivated, proactive and confident
Creative and able to be innovative
Experience managing a diverse team and strong willingness to build capacity of team members.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge in general construction, Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety and Food safety.
