VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
Job Title: Livelihoods Officer
Location: Choma
Duration: 1 Year Contract
Reporting to: Country Programme Coordinator
Job Purpose
The Livelihoods Officer will be responsible for field-level planning, implementation, and monitoring of project activities that support farmers and targeted communities in adopting sustainable, climate-smart farming practices. The role focuses on enhancing productivity, resilience, and recovery from climate-related shocks.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Project Implementation
Support the execution of livelihood and climate-smart agriculture activities in target areas.
2. Monitoring, Evaluation, Reporting, and Learning
Conduct periodic on-site monitoring of project activities.
Support data collection, reporting, and learning processes to ensure continuous improvement.
3. Capacity Building and Stakeholder Engagement
Collaborate with local partners, government departments, and community structures.
Facilitate training sessions and workshops to promote adoption of sustainable agricultural practices.
4. Communication, Partnerships, and Knowledge Management
Support implementation of the organisation’s communication strategy.
Promote NACRO’s values and key messages through effective communication tools.
Document and share best practices and lessons learned.
Qualifications and Experience
Full Grade 12 Certificate.
Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Agriculture, Agribusiness, Social Sciences, or Business Administration (or other relevant fields).
Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in project management, community development, or livelihoods programming.
Experience working on donor-funded projects and community engagement initiatives.
Knowledge or experience in climate adaptation, environment, resilience, gender mainstreaming, or private sector development is an added advantage.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting and stakeholder coordination.
Proficiency in monitoring and evaluation tools and techniques is desirable.
Experience in communications or knowledge management will be an added advantage.
