SCHOOL OF NURSING AND MIDWIFERY SCIENCES

Levy Mwanawasa Medical University (LMMU) invites applications from suitably qualified, motivated, and experienced professionals to fill the following academic and clinical positions in the School of Nursing and Midwifery Sciences. All positions are on a full-time basis.

2. LECTURER – PAEDIATRICS AND CHILD HEALTH NURSING
Job Purpose
To deliver specialised teaching, clinical instruction, and supervision in Paediatrics and Child Health Nursing in accordance with approved curricula and professional standards.

Key Responsibilities
Plan, prepare, and teach Paediatric and Child Health Nursing courses in line with approved curricula.

Supervise and support students during paediatric clinical placements.

Prepare, administer, and mark assessments and examinations.

Provide academic mentorship and guidance to students.

Participate in curriculum review, departmental meetings, and quality assurance activities.

Maintain accurate academic and assessment records in accordance with University regulations.

Qualifications and Experience
Grade 12 Certificate with five credits including English, Mathematics, and Science.

BSc in Nursing or Midwifery.

MSc in Paediatrics and Child Health Nursing.

Minimum two (2) years tertiary teaching experience.

Valid NMCZ practising certificate and ZAQA clearance.

Effective communication and presentation skills.

High standards of professionalism, ethics, and integrity.

Ability to mentor, guide, and support students academically and clinically.

Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary academic and clinical team.

Good organisational and time management skills.

Demonstrated involvement in research activities and/or contribution to scholarly publications will be an added advantage.
