SCHOOL OF NURSING AND MIDWIFERY SCIENCES
Levy Mwanawasa Medical University (LMMU) invites applications from suitably qualified, motivated, and experienced professionals to fill the following academic and clinical positions in the School of Nursing and Midwifery Sciences. All positions are on a full-time basis.
4. LECTURER – NURSING EDUCATION
Job Purpose
To strengthen nursing pedagogy through effective teaching, curriculum delivery, and support academic staff development in line with approved standards and best practice.
Key responsibilities:
Deliver teaching and learning in Nursing Education including pedagogy-related courses, in line with approved curricula and academic standards.
Support the development, review, and continuous improvement of nursing curricula and teaching methodologies.
Mentor and provide academic support to students and junior academic staff to enhance teaching effectiveness and professional growth.
Participate in quality assurance, accreditation, and evaluation activities to ensure compliance with University and regulatory requirements.
Contribute to academic planning, meetings, and other institutional activities related to teaching and learning.
Qualifications and Experience:
Grade 12 Certificate with five credits including English, Mathematics, and Science
BSc in Nursing or related discipline
MSc in Nursing Education
Minimum two (2) years teaching experience
NMCZ registration and ZAQA clearance
Key Attributes and Competencies:
Demonstrated competence in Nursing Education practice and teaching.
Effective communication and presentation skills.
High standards of professionalism, ethics, and integrity.
Ability to mentor, guide, and support students academically and clinically.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary academic and clinical team.
Good organisational and time management skills.
Demonstrated involvement in research activities and/or contribution to scholarly publications will be an added advantage.
