SCHOOL OF NURSING AND MIDWIFERY SCIENCES
Levy Mwanawasa Medical University (LMMU) invites applications from suitably qualified, motivated, and experienced professionals to fill the following academic and clinical positions in the School of Nursing and Midwifery Sciences. All positions are on a full-time basis.

1. LECTURER – MEDICAL SURGICAL / CLINICAL NURSING
Job Purpose:
To provide effective teaching, clinical supervision, and academic mentorship in Medical Surgical and Clinical Nursing, and to contribute to curriculum development, research, and quality assurance.Career counseling services

Key Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare, and deliver lectures, tutorials, and clinical practical sessions in line with approved curricula.

Supervise and assess students during clinical placements to ensure effective integration of theory and practice.

Prepare, administer, and mark assessments and examinations in accordance with University regulations.

Provide academic mentorship, guidance, and support to students.

Participate in curriculum development, departmental meetings, examinations, and quality assurance activities.

Maintain accurate academic and assessment records and submit required reports.

Comply with University policies, professional standards, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications and Experience:
Grade 12 Certificate with five credits including English, Mathematics, and Science.

BSc in Nursing, Midwifery, or a related discipline.

MSc in Nursing.

Minimum of two (2) years’ tertiary teaching experience.

Valid NMCZ practising certificate and ZAQA clearance.

Key Attributes and Competencies:
Strong clinical and teaching competence in Medical Surgical Nursing.

Effective communication and presentation skills.

High standards of professionalism, ethics, and integrity.

Ability to mentor, guide, and support students academically and clinically.

Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary academic and clinical team.

Good organisational and time management skills.

Demonstrated involvement in research activities and/or contribution to scholarly publications will be an added advantage.
