SCHOOL OF NURSING AND MIDWIFERY SCIENCES
Levy Mwanawasa Medical University (LMMU) invites applications from suitably qualified, motivated, and experienced professionals to fill the following academic and clinical positions in the School of Nursing and Midwifery Sciences. All positions are on a full-time basis.
6. LECTURER – EMERGENCY AND TRAUMA NURSING
Job Purpose:
To deliver teaching, clinical instruction, and supervision in Emergency and Trauma Nursing in accordance with approved curricula and professional standards.
Key responsibilities:
Deliver teaching and learning in Emergency and Trauma Nursing in line with approved curricula and academic standards.
Supervise and support students during emergency and trauma clinical placements to ensure safe practice and achievement of required competencies.
Develop, administer, and mark assessments and examinations, and provide academic mentorship to students.
Participate in curriculum development, clinical coordination, and quality assurance activities related to Emergency and Trauma Nursing.
Qualifications and Experience:
Grade 12 Certificate with five credits including English, Mathematics, and Science
BSc in Nursing or related discipline
MSc in Emergency and Trauma Nursing
Minimum two (2) years tertiary teaching experience
NMCZ registration and ZAQA clearance
Key Attributes and Competences:
Demonstrated competence in Emergency and Trauma Nursing practice and teaching.
Effective communication and presentation skills.
High standards of professionalism, ethics, and integrity.
Ability to mentor, guide, and support students academically and clinically.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary academic and clinical team.
Good organisational and time management skills.
Demonstrated involvement in research activities and/or contribution to scholarly publications will be an added advantage.
