Oikonomakis Law is an international, multi-jurisdictional law firm with presence across Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Oceania.
As part of our global expansion, we are seeking an International Legal & Business Development Representative based in Zambia or Nigeria.
ROLE DEFINITION:
This is NOT a legal execution role.
The position does NOT involve:
– handling legal cases
– providing legal representation
– executing legal work
The role is strictly focused on:
– client acquisition
– relationship building
– structuring engagements
– transferring matters to internal legal teams
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
– Identify and attract clients (local and international)
– Build strategic relationships with businesses, investors and professionals
– Understand client needs and structure legal engagements
– Act as primary interface between client and firm
– Transfer matters to relevant internal departments
– Maintain long-term client relationships
– Participate in international business and investment opportunities
SCOPE OF ACTIVITY:
The role is NOT geographically limited.
The successful candidate may:
– generate local clients
– generate international clients
– initiate cross-border matters
and will operate across ALL firm jurisdictions and offices
Requirements
IDEAL PROFILE:
We are looking for someone who:

✔ can operate independently
✔ has strategic thinking
BACKGROUND:
Candidates may come from:
– Legal profession
– Legal advisory
– Corporate advisory
– Investment / consulting
– Business development in professional services
A law degree is valuable, but not mandatory
Business generation ability is mandatory
REQUIRED CAPABILITIES:
✔ Business & Commercial Skills:
– Client acquisition experience
– Negotiation skills
– Relationship development
✔ Financial Understanding:
– Understanding of pricing and value
– Basic financial literacy
– Ability to position legal services commercially
✔ Technical Skills:
– Advanced Excel
– PowerPoint
– CRM / client tracking systems
– Digital communication tools
✔ International Mindset:
– Ability to operate across jurisdictions
– Comfortable working with international teams
