Position: HUMAN RESOURCE OFFICER
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on HR Officer (senior level) to manage the full spectrum of human resources activities at our manufacturing plant. This role requires a strategic yet operational HR leader who thrives in a fast-paced industrial setting. You will be responsible for maintaining positive employee relations, ensuring compliance with Zambian labour laws, and driving workforce efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
✓ Handle the daily HR operations for a workforce of factory staff, including recruitment, onboarding, attendance management, and off boarding.
✓ Manage employee relations, disciplinary hearings, grievance procedures, and conflict resolution in line with Zambian labour legislation.
✓ Coordinate and facilitate training and development programs to enhance worker skills and safety awareness.
✓ Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements (e.g., Workers’ Compensation, NAPSA, NHIMA) and maintain accurate employee records.
✓ Implement and monitor HR policies, procedures, and performance management systems.
✓ Support the plant management team in workforce planning, succession planning, and headcount control.
✓ Prepare payroll inputs, administer leave schedules, and manage employee benefits administration.
✓ Foster a positive workplace culture and drive employee engagement initiatives.
✓ Solve HR related issues and coordinate with departments.
✓ Other tasks assigned by Department leader.
Qualifications & Experience
✓ Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field.
✓ Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing, factory, or industrial environment.
✓ Strong working knowledge of Zambian labour laws, employment regulations, and statutory bodies (NAPSA, NHIMA, etc.).
✓ Proven experience in managing employee relations, recruiting blue-collar staff, and handling high-volume HR administration.
✓ Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
✓ Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and respond effectively to operational demands.
✓ Full membership of the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management (ZIHRM) is an added advantage.
✓ Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
