and conditions of the government of Zambia and fill the vacant posts that exist in the technical
department listed herein under on a one-year fixed term contract, renewable based on performance.

Job Description

The HDPE Jet Moulding Machine Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining the high-density polyethylene (HDPE) jet moulding machine. This machine is used to produce plastic products through the process of injection moulding. The operator ensures the efficient and safe operation of the machine, produces high-quality products, and performs routine maintenance tasks.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Set up and prepare the HDPE jet moulding machine for operation.
• Load the raw HDPE material into the machine hopper.
• Adjust machine settings, such as temperature, pressure, and cycle time, based on product
  specifications.
• Start the machine and monitor the production process to ensure proper functioning.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during production.
• Conduct regular quality checks to ensure the products meet required standards.
• Remove finished products from the machine and inspect them for defects.
• Make adjustments to the machine settings as needed to maintain product quality.
• Maintain production records and log any issues or maintenance performed.

Maintenance and Cleaning:

• Perform routine maintenance tasks on the machine, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts.
• Troubleshoot and repair minor machine malfunctions.
• Notify maintenance personnel or supervisors of any major machine issues.
• Keep the work area clean and organized.

Safety and Compliance:

• Follow all safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Report any safety incidents or near misses to the appropriate personnel.

Continuous Improvement:

• Identify opportunities for process improvement and suggest solutions.
• Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
• Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in HDPE jet moulding technology.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Grade twelve school certificate
• Relevant certificate or diploma
• Previous experience operating HDPE jet moulding machines is preferred.
• Knowledge of injection moulding processes, machine operation, and troubleshooting.
• Understanding of HDPE material properties and their impact on the moulding process.
• Ability to read and interpret product specifications and technical drawings.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain quality standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects if required.
