Job Description
1. JOB PURPOSE

To reconcile ZCCM-IH financial transactions and ensuring that bank statements align with the company’s financial records thereby maintaining financial accuracy and transparency.
To tracks every item in the bank statements and confirm all the transactions are adequately supported.
To search and investigate items that do not reconcile with the bank statements with the aim of reconciling them.

2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

2.1 To review the Company’s bank accounts, check balances against ledger amounts and make follow-ups with banks to resolve unreconciled items.
2.2 Provide feedback to the Finance Department on how to improve on internal controls and identify areas where risks relating to banking transactions can be minimized.
2.3 To analyze and make recommendations as to the performance of the Company’s bank account, and where applicable, whether account should be maintained or closed.
2.4 To verify and validate that amounts agree with financial statement items such as an asset, a liability, a revenue, or an expense.
2.5 Investigate and resolve discrepancies and errors in a timely manner, collaborating with relevant departments or external parties when necessary.
2.6 To reconcile bank accounts against Cash Books on a weekly basis and by 3rd of every month.
2.7 Assist auditors, internal and external – with documentation required for the audit and provide explanations related to bank reconciliations.
2.8 Maintain organized and up-to-date bank reconciliation documentation, including supporting records and explanations for reconciling items.
2.9 To review guidelines and policies around cash processes to ensure adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls.
2.10 Comply with financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal control policies and procedures, and other applicable laws and regulations.
2.11 Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of bank reconciliation processes.
2.12 Compute and post interest on fixed deposits in the accounting system and maintain an up to date interest earned schedules.
2.13 Builds and maintains excellent relationships with, the banks,
2.14 Provide daily/weekly cash position report.
2.15 Resolve audit matters relating Bank reconciliations and fixed deposits on time
2.16 Any other duties as assigned to you from time to time.

3. JOB DIMENSIONS: Financial Responsibilities ·

Compare the company’s internal cash records (general ledger) with bank statements on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.
· Identify and investigate discrepancies between the bank statement and the company’s records.
· Ensure all transactions (deposits, withdrawals, fees, and interest) are accurately recorded

Job Requirements
1. QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS: Minimum level of academic qualifications required to perform effectively in the role Grade Twelve or Equivalent with Credits or Better in Five Subjects, Mathematics and English Included.
Minimum level of professional qualification required to perform effectively in the role Diploma in Accountancy or equivalent Professional qualification in the related field (ACCA/ZICA/CIMA)
Relevant Professional Membership
Relevant Professional Certification Skills and competencies · Technical
Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
Knowledge of bank reconciliation processes and general ledger accounting.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Ensures accuracy in bank reconciliations and financial records.
Ability to identify discrepancies and resolve them effectively.
Maintains the highest standards of honesty and ethical behavior in financial management.
Manages time effectively to meet deadlines for reconciliations and reporting.

2. RELEVANT EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Minimum number of months or years of experience the jobholder is required to have to be appointed to the position
Not less than 3 Years Work experience in a busy and complex work environment experience in a similar Position
