The School Club Zambia

We are an award winning Zambian NGO and UK Charity, that exists to innovate and upscale the education system in rural Zambia. We believe that qualitative, relevant, environmentally and financially sustainable education is the key to unlocking the potential of children and young people. Since 2011, our work has reached over 20,0000 children and adolescents across our four impact areas of self-financing schools, vocational education, literacy development and girls’ education.

The role: short-term contract on our “Own your Destiny” Girls Football League of Sinazongwe as a Entrepreneurship and Saving Group Trainer

Location: Maamba, Sinazongwe District, Southern Province

Contract: 10 weeks

Start date: August 2022

Type: Full time (45 hour working week) but usually 8.00 am – 4.00 pm with a 1 hour lunch break  Monday to Friday.

The project: We are seeking to hire an experienced entrepreneurship and saving group trainer to run workshops for 250 girls across 10 football teams. The training will need to be conducted in Tonga over 10 weeks, with each team of 25 girls receiving 5 full days of training.

Essential skills –

1. A minimum of 3 years of experience in delivering high quality training in business management, entrepreneurship and saving groups

2. Qualifications in a relevant discipline such as Business Management or Entrepreneurship

3. Experience in delivering training for adolescent youths, particularly young people that have disabilities and/or have been out of school for a long time

4. Experience in designing and implementing monitoring and evaluation plans that will track the success of training on individual beneficiaries

5. Proven record of budget construction and management

6. Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills

7. Strong IT skills with the ability to use Word, Excel,Publisher and Mail

8. A strong belief in the right for all children to finish a full 12 years of school

Desirable skills –

1. Fluent in Tonga

2. Caring and compassionate attitude towards the challenges that the girls on the project may face in returning to school

3. A great communicator, with the ability to feedback success and challenges to the whole team

4. Experience in upholding strong safeguarding and child protection policies

Main duties and responsibilities –

1. Project Management

Ensure that the training is conducted to specification and to a high standard to all 10 girls football teams within the 10 week time-frame

Procurement of all training materials

2. Financial Management

Compliance with policies and procedures that safeguard staff and the assets of the organisation.

3. Monitoring, Evaluation, Assessment and Learning

Design and implement a monitoring and evaluation plan to track the progress of individual beneficiaries taking part on the project

Complete an end of training feedback report

4. Safeguarding

Ensure compliance with the organisation’s safeguarding and child protection policy
