POSITION 2: ELECTRONIC TECHNICIAN (Inverters, Batteries & BMS)

Location: Lusaka, Zambia
Employment Type: Full-time / Immediate start

Role Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented Electronic Technician with proven experience in fixing and repairing inverters, lithium batteries, and Battery Management Systems (BMS).

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair solar inverters (hybrid, off-grid, grid-tied, UPS): no display, no output, error codes, fan failure, blown MOSFETs/IGBTs, control board faults, and communication issues (Wi-Fi/RS485/CAN).
• Test, repair, and maintain batteries:
  • • Lithium batteries: BMS fault diagnosis, cell voltage balancing, CAN/RS485 communication errors, state-of-health testing, and replacement of faulty BMS boards.
  Local networking events
• Perform component-level repair on inverter PCBs: soldering/desoldering, capacitor replacement, diode/transistor testing, and power supply section troubleshooting.
• Use diagnostic tools: multimeter, oscilloscope, battery load tester, thermal camera, and insulation tester.
• Read inverter service manuals, BMS datasheets, and circuit diagrams.
• Complete detailed repair reports and warranty assessments.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum: Certificate or Diploma in Electronic Technician, Electronic Engineering.
• Experience: 2–5 years hands-on experience repairing inverters, batteries, and BMS systems.
• Strong soldering and PCB troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with lithium battery BMS is a strong advantage.
