We are a growing solar and power solutions company seeking skilled technicians to join our service and maintenance teams.
POSITION 1: ELECTROMECHANICAL TECHNICIAN (Generators, Pumps & Motors)
Location: Lusaka, Zambia
Employment Type: Full-time / Immediate start
Role Summary
We are looking for a hands-on Electromechanical Technician with proven experience in fixing and repairing generators, pumps, electric motors, and mechanical drive systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair diesel and petrol generators (1kVA – 100kVA): engine starting problems, no power output, AVR failure, voltage/frequency instability, fuel system issues, and alternator faults.
- Troubleshoot and repair water pumps (centrifugal, borehole, booster pumps): motor seizure, capacitor failure, pressure switch faults, mechanical seal replacement, and impeller damage.
- Repair electric motors (single-phase and three-phase): winding testing, bearing replacement, capacitor checking, and thermal overload resetting.
- Perform mechanical repairs: belt alignment, coupling replacement, shaft straightening, and lubrication.
- Use diagnostic tools: multimeter, clamp meter, megohmmeter, tachometer, pressure gauge, and dial gauge.
- Read mechanical and electrical schematics for generators and pump control panels.
- Complete service reports and preventive maintenance logs.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum: Certificate or Diploma in Electromechanical Technician , Electromechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering (with strong mechanical background).
- Experience: 3–5 years hands-on experience repairing generators, pumps, and motors.
- Ability to work on-site and in-workshop.
