DOZER OPERATORS X 4

Position Description

This position reports to the Area Supervisors. Successful candidate will be responsible for the below duties.

• Assess your work areas and identify all hards and fix them if they fall to your knowledge and ability, otherwise report it to your supervisor for correction and action.
• Ensure that every start of shift, pre-start checklist of the equipment is done and any defects are reported and repaired before use.
• Ensure that all company safety, health and environmental procedures along with any specific client requirements are implemented and adhered to.
• Ensure that all applicable legislative requirements are implemented and compiled with.
• Operate the dozer and other permitted heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
• Understand, interpret and follow directions from supervisors as to required work area.
• Operate dozer controls to regulate height and angle of the dozer blade and lower scarifies to loosen packed soil to permit grading.
• Feel levers and listen to equipment sounds to determine depth of the cut.
• Ensure a sound understanding of the issues involving ground disturbance.
• Operate Dozer in successive passes over construction surface to raise or lower terrain to specified grade, following markings on grade stakes or hand signals.
• Use the Dozer to level soil, move rock and debris, and scoop soil.
• Perform routine cleaning and maintenance to ensure smooth operation of the grader.
• Ensure dozer is in proper gear and is not moving too fast for working conditions.
• Demonstrate an understanding of grades and interpret roadway plans and drawings.
• Must ensure a solid understanding of and comply with the principles of the company’s Code of Ethics.

Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience

.Grades 12 or 9 certificate.

. Experienced in dozing works and other service works.

. Minimum 2 years work experience in dozing and related works.

. Safety conscious.

. Socially oriented person.

. Good at interpersonal skills.
