Job Summary

T• To manage Transaction Processing Team from a people, process and control point of view. The team consists of Voucher Processing Centre, Clearing, and Voucher Verifiers.
• To Manage Capacity planning, expense tracking and reporting process.
• Ensure transactions are processed within agreed service levels and full adherence to Funds Transfer Operating Standards.
• Ensure timely compliance and regulatory reporting

 

Job Description

Outputs:

Ensure that team members own and manage customer queries and complaints by taking ownership and resolving in a timely manner. Act as the escalation point for their unresolved queries and complaints. Full adherence to TCF principles to avert risks associated with dissatisfied customers.
To manage Transaction Processing Team.
Sensitize staff on the need to be alert especially when processing large transactions.
Snap check on a daily basis large transactions to ensure that staff adhere to Funds Transfer Operating Standards.
Ensure that LAM principles are adhered to during processing transactions at all times.
Process transactions within SLA to avert delayed processing related risks such as exchange losses, interest claims etc.
Ensure that there is an effective callover process as a safety net to immediately intercept errors, fraud etc which would otherwise bred losses, as such, the call over process must be timely and robust.
Effectively Manage Clearing and other suspense accounts.
Clearing is performed with correct value dating and settlement accounts are balanced daily.
To Manage Capacity planning, expense tracking and reporting process.
Build and develop a high performing team through embedding performance development and coaching. Ensure that team members receive coaching and feedback in order to develop to achieve their maximum potential.
Discuss and finalise Performance Development Plans and ratings for all members of staff.
Determine and manage Training Needs Analysis and Succession plans for all team members.
Responsible for hiring team members based on short-lists of candidates compiled by HR and Resource Coordinator.
Responsible for conducting exit interviews for all employee-initiated departures from the bank. Provide results of exit interviews to HR for review and analysis.

Manage staff attendance levels, including approval of leave. Compile monthly absence statistics (annual leave, sick leave, family responsibility leave, maternity leave, study leave etc), and submit to HR for record keeping.
Ensure effective Capacity management
Interpret the Bank’s policies and procedures and ensure that all Team Managers comply.
Ensure timely closure of audit findings.
Ensure adherence to Risk event reporting standards , identify either process or procedural lapses and recommend appropriate actions to relevant managers
Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Absa’s Operational Risk Framework and internal Absa Policies and Standards

Education

Higher Diplomas: Business, Commerce and Management Studies (Required)
