Job Description


ORYX Energies S.A “OESA” is one of Africa’s largest and longest established independent providers of oil and gas products and services. In pursuit of its business strategies in Zambia, the company invites applications from suitably qualified individuals for Depot Operator roles, to join its team at ORYX Energies Zambia Ltd “OEZL”, based on the Copperbelt and Lusaka.

The successful candidates  will be reporting to Site Managers and or Depot Supervisors.

Main responsibilities includes but not limited to:

  • Implement, uphold and sustain high Safety Standards in the portfolio operations and in line with Oryx Healthy, Safety, Security, Environment and Quality (HSSEQ) Policy.
  • Understand and discharge the duties of Emergency Response Team (ERT) Member
  • Ensure EVERYONE in the depot adheres to safety and environmental rules.
  • Identify process deviations and perform root cause/corrective action.
  • Ensure ALL safety equipment is always in good working condition.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels for the site.
  • Conducting periodic plant inspections.
  • Forge positive working relationships with partners within and outside the department.
  • Request for replenishing inventory as needed.
  • Preparation of product receipt and delivery documentation.
  • Ensure safe custody of critical documents such as PODs, Delivery notes, Invoices etc.
  •  Conduct accurate Month end stock counts for packed products
  • Ensure physical stock count and Bin card balances always agree.  Differences must be investigated immediately.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date stocks movements records for packed products (Bin cards)
  • Perform daily tank gauging at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • Perform all product quality control activities for each delivery as per product dispatch procedure
  • Perform any other duties that may be assigned by Supervisor from time to time.

  • Being proactive and innovative, you are expected to be highly reliable, to search for excellence, to respect good governance and HSSEQ principles across the company and consider the company’s reputation at all times in particular respecting the OESA Code of Conduct.
  • You are responsible for your personal results, and do not hesitate to display a proactive and creative attitude with a particular commitment to teamwork.

Experience & education required:

  • Grade 12 School Certificate
  • Minimum of Certificate in Engineering, Logistics or Supply.  A Diploma will be an added advantage.
  • At least zero to one years post qualification experience.
