Job Title: Cost Accountant

Grade: ZMM –

Department: Finance Manager’s Office

Location: Zampalm HQs, Kanchibiya

Tenure: 3 years Contract

2.0 Job Description

A Cost Accountant plays a crucial role in managing an organization’s financial health by analyzing and controlling costs. Here’s a detailed job description:

Responsibilities:

Cost Analysis:

  1. Calculate and analyse production costs, including materials, labour, and overhead.

Budgeting:

  1. Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial projections.

Cost Control:

  1. Identify areas for cost reduction and implement cost-saving initiatives.

Financial Reporting

  1. Prepare financial reports, including cost statements and variance analyses.

Inventory Management:

  1. Track and manage inventory levels, including valuation and costing.

4.0 Reporting Relationships

Reports to: Finance manager

4.1 Number and Level of Immediate Subordinates

5.0 Knowledge and Skill Levels

    1. Minimum Primary/ Secondary Education:

  • Full Grade 12 GCE O’Level Certificate or GCSE

5.2 Minimum Vocational/Professional Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, o: r a related field. Business Administration; or any other related fields

  • Member of a relevant body

    1. Certifications:

  • Relevant training and certifications1. CIMA (Certified Institute of Management Accountants)

  • 2. ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants)

  • 3. CPA (Certified Public Accountant)

    1. Minimum Relevant Work Experience.

  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in managing administrative work such as: Manage executive calendars, schedules, and correspondence.
  • Coordinate meetings, events, and travel arrangements.
  • Maintain confidential records and databases.
  • Develop and implemented efficient filing systems.
  • Provide exceptional support to senior management.
