IZU Empire Construction Company Limited is a registered and privately owned construction and development consultancy company. We are seeking to employ a suitably qualified, highly motivated, and goal-oriented professional to fill the position of a Civil Structural Engineer x 1.

JOB PURPOSE

The incumbent will be expected to oversee the successful implementation of our projects related to construction.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Preparation and review of first principles construction cost estimates to ensure demonstrable value for money.
• Ensure that BOQ and other specifications are developed and adhered to.
• Track project activities and matching resources for successful implementation.
• Monitor field work to ensure any corrective measures are put in place if required
• Carry out site inspections and supervision of projects being executed by on-site workers.
• Prepare bidding documents.
• Participate in meetings ensuring all logistics and procurement are done correctly and on time.
• Verify the scope of works against the items and quantities in the cost estimate, identifying and quantifying any gaps. This includes verifying that constructability issues are included in the estimate, and the estimate is aligned to relevant work breakdown structures.
• Understand the project drivers for cost and schedule and determine whether the appropriate estimating and planning effort and accuracy has been applied.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Full Grade 12 Certificate with at least five (05) credits including Mathematics and English
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
• At least three (03) years’ relevant work experience in construction, roadworks, and project management
• Must be a paid-up member of the Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ)

• Able to work with minimum supervision
• Conversant with the MS Office Suite
• Conversant with AutoCad and Revit.
• Must be 28 years old or Older.
