JOB OPPORTUNITY: CHIEF ACCOUNTANT
LOCATION: SOLWEZI

Kestria Zambia is recruiting on behalf of a reputable client in the mining/quarrying sector seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Accountant to join their Finance team in Solwezi.

Role Overview:

The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Finance Department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with statutory obligations, and effective financial management.

Key Responsibilities:

• • Oversee finance operations, ensuring timely payments, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and annual financial statements.
  • Develop and monitor budgets and forecasts.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (ZRA, NHIMA, NAPSA).
  • Manage payables, receivables, and cashbook reconciliations.
  • Maintain the Fixed Assets Register and reconcile tax accounts.
  • Supervise, mentor, and appraise finance staff.
  • Review and approve invoices, journals, and payments.
  • Support internal, external, and statutory audits.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and service providers.

Requirements:

• Grade 12 Certificate (Credit or better in Maths & English)
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• Professional qualification (ACCA, ZICA, CIMA)
• Qualifications must be ZAQA certified
• Paid-up ZICA member
• Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience
• Experience in mining/quarry sector added advantage

Key Skills:

Strong analytical ability, attention to detail, integrity, leadership, and proficiency in MS Office and accounting systems.
