Job Title: Butchery Assistant Location: Kaoma, Zambia Closing Date: 22 October 2026

Responsibilities

To provide efficient, quality customer retention and service.

• Assist in cutting, trimming, and packaging meat products.

• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the workspace.

• Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.

• Serve customers, weigh and package meat, and provide advice on preparation and cooking.

• Make sure work areas are kept clean at all times.

• Sharpen and clean knives and operate cutting machinery.

• Display produce in windows or cabinets.

• Maintain cleanliness in the work area, assist with customer service, and ensure proper labelling and display of meat cuts in the store.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Butchery production certification.

• 1–2 years of experience in butchery production.

• Basic knowledge of butchery and food preparation.

• Good communication and problem-solving skills.

• Physical fitness and ability to work at heights.

• Candidates should be medically fit.

• Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.

• Must be able to stay calm and focused.

• Interpersonal skills.

• Supervisory skills, including the ability to train employees to use time efficiently and maintain high standards of service delivery.
