Job Description


ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT (01)

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Undertakes effectively, payroll inputs in order to facilitate payments of salaries and other allowances.
  • Undertakes timely and accurately the maintenance of books of accounts in order to facilitate efficient storage and retrieval of information.
  • Undertakes timely banking of revenue collections in order to safeguard public funds.
  • Undertakes effectively, preparation of responses to audit queries in order to facilitate decision making.
  • Undertakes timely, preparation of monthly expenditure statements in order to monitor levels of expenditure.
  • Undertakes timely, preparation of registers of damages and losses in order to facilitate recoveries of government funds and property.
  • Undertakes timely, recoveries of loans and advances in order to facilitate repayments.
  • Undertakes timely, preparation of financial reports in order to facilitate decision making.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Grade 12 school certificate
  • Minimum of two-three years relevant experience in a similar field
  • Diploma in Accounting, finance or any other related discipline
  • Professional membership in related field
  • Competent in accounting software programs
  • Knowledge in Microsoft office

  • High level of accuracy and efficiency
  • Ethical behavior when dealing with sensitive financial information
