About Company- Apollo Agricultural Holdings Limited was created in 1991 by the amalgamation of two independent farms in Zambia that had been operating under various names since the 1940s and 1984, respectively. Our present workforce totals 140 people. Apollo Agricultural Holdings Ltd is a privately held Limited Liability Company that has grown one of Zambia’s largest dairy firms from the ground up. Apollo operates two 2000-hectare farms, one of which is Zambia’s largest pasture-based dairy farm. The cows graze on 200ha of pivot-irrigated specialized grass and legumes, which provide the majority of our feed. Apollo presently farms 350 acres of maize, which is harvested for silage and grain in addition to the irrigated meadows. The grain is processed on the farm for supplemental feed.

Job Description :

·      Candidate needs to manage the operations from raw milk collection, filtration, pasteurization, homogenization, packaging to storage .

·      Developing and implementing plans to assure achievement of appropriate volume of production for each product processed.

·      Coordinating production activities with procurement, maintenance and quality control activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines and equipment.

·      Ensure strict adherence to preventive maintenance system and make efforts towards minimizing break down of the plant.

·      Plan, supervise and monitor the work of the subordinate staff.

·      Plan and ensure the introduction of cost effective and modern techniques/technology in processing and maintenance

·      Ensure optimum utilization of the manpower working under him.

·      Ensure good manufacturing practices and good hygiene practices are followed & maintain the standards of products.

·      Provide technical assistance for maintenance of supporting equipment’s.

Required Experience in Years : Relevant experience in a similar role will be no less than 3 years

Job location Complete: Chingola, Zambia.

Contract: Two years with option to renew.

Key Skills:

·      Strong Written & verbal communication skills(English).

·      Excellent knowledge about all the workings of a basic milk processing / packaging plant operations.

·      Ability to learn inventory control

Salary: $1,500-2500 basic with bonus based on performance.
