ARCHIE HINCHCLIFFE DISABILITY INTERVENTION

AHDI is a registered non- governmental organization empowering children with cerebral palsy and other allied conditions. ADHI focuses on empowering these children through inclusive education, healthcare and support services by offering physiotherapy. home based education, training for parents and caregivers and advocating for disability rights.

JOB DESCRIPTIONS

Job Title:                  Physiotherapist

Programme:             Archie Hinchcliffe Disability Intervention

Base:                          Lusaka

Reports:                    Executive Director

Responsible for:       Volunteers

Internal:  Archie Hinchcliffe Disability Intervention team

External:  Communities, NGOs and other agencies and Government Bodies

Purpose of the job

To provide physiotherapy and ensure smooth running of physiotherapy programmes.

OVERALL RESPONSIBLILITIES

  • Coordinate the building of capacity to stakeholders in disability, child protection, children’s rights, and gender related issues.
  • Networking and coordinating with implementing partners involved in programmes
  • Be involved in the planning and implementation of the five-year strategic plan
  • Assess children for placement in schools and postural supportive aids
  • Planning and facilitating workshops
  • Conduct mini studies of the various aspect of Physiotherapy services and the beneficiaries.
  • Conduct / facilitate sensitisation activities
  • Train parents, volunteers and teachers
  • Periodic and activity report writing
  • Keep data for AHDI for planning and fundraising purposes
  • Monitor and evaluate performance of AHDI clinics
  • Work closely with DHMT Physiotherapists / sisters in charge
  • To provide physiotherapy in all the clinics
  • Ensure that the Child Protection Policy is understood and disseminated to the stakeholders
  • Monitor parents support groups (PSG) in all the designated areas around Lusaka.
