Little Sun Zambia Limited is on a mission to achieve universal access to clean energy and increase farmers’ income through solar-powered solutions. We are expanding our transformative initiatives and seeking three dynamic and motivated Technical Support Officers to provide crucial technical expertise and support in our Community Energy Hubs.

About Us

At Little Sun Zambia Limited, we believe in the potential of renewable energy to improve farmers’ livelihoods by increasing yields and sales. As a renewable energy company incorporated in Zambia, we have been making significant strides in the greater district of Mumbwa since 2019, bringing the benefits of pay-as-you-go renewable energy to the community.

Our strategic vision involves venturing into productive use of renewable energy to support the dairy production sub-sector in the greater Chibombo district. As part of this vision, we are establishing Community Energy Hubs in key locations, including Shimukuni, Malambanyama, and Keembe. To ensure the success of these Hubs, we are seeking three Technical Support Officers to oversee and manage all technical systems used at the energy hubs.

The Role

As a Technical Support Officer, you will play a vital role in the seamless integration and operation of solar technology in our Community Energy Hubs. Reporting to the Operations Officer, you will be responsible for identifying hardware and software solutions, troubleshooting technical issues, diagnosing and repairing faults, and ensuring timely and accurate feedback to farmers and off-takers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all technical systems used at the energy hubs, ensuring their smooth operation and functionality
  • Identify and implement hardware and software solutions to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of solar technology
  • Troubleshoot technical issues that may arise and provide timely resolutions
  • Diagnose and repair faults, coordinating replacement or repair of necessary parts as needed
  • Install and configure hardware and software, ensuring proper functionality
  • Provide timely and accurate feedback to farmers and off-takers regarding technical matters
  • Follow up with clients to ensure problems are resolved satisfactorily
  • Support the integration of Milk Collection Centre Systems with off-takers, ensuring seamless collaboration
  • Manage multiple technical cases simultaneously, prioritizing tasks effectively

Minimum Requirements

  • Tertiary education with exposure to Computer Studies or a related field
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience, with a focus on technical support and computer systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Strong database and software management skills, with programming knowledge
  • Technical acumen and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams
  • Proactive and self-motivated, capable of independently managing tasks and responsibilities
