A reputable Food processing company based on the Copperbelt is seeking qualified individuals to fill the following vacancy:

WORKSHOP FOREMAN – 2 YEARS FTC (RENEWABLE BASED ON PERFORMANCE)

The incumbent will be responsible for supervising a vehicle maintenance workshop to ensure that the company’s vehicles are effectively maintained and serviced.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise staff in the workshop to ensure that they are appropriately trained and motivated and carry out their responsibilities to the required standards.
  • Oversee all vehicle maintenance operations to ensure that company vehicles are effectively maintained and serviced.
  • Develop and implement maintenance service schedules to ensure that repairs and maintenance are carried out efficiently and at the appropriate times to minimize vehicle downtime.
  • Monitor vehicle performance post- service or repairs.
  • Negotiate contracts for vehicle maintenance as required and ensure that all contractual obligations are met to the required standards.
  • Account for tools and equipment in his/her care.
  • Adhere to procedures for spare parts ordering systems.
  • Provide technical advice on vehicles and trailers to managers and staff to ensure that specifications are met, and the company complies with legal requirements.
  • Develop and monitor the operation of all necessary systems and procedures to ensure that vehicle and workshop safety standards are adhered to.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Grade 12 certificate
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a busy workshop
  • Excellent planning skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and for extended hours
